Guided Trip Schedule

      We have on average at least one guided camping trip and one day trip each month. Canoes and Kayaks are available to rent year at three location: Darien Outpost, Sapelo Island and Beards Bluff Campground. Private guided Group trips are available year round. Reservations with a deposit are required for all trips and rentals. Call or Email for changes or additional information

There are many great trips to choose from in the area. All trip plans are in consideration of the tides, while the wind is the major variable . These one day adventures go to, among other places, Blackbeard, Sapelo or Lewis Island as well as Buffalo Swamp. Trips are generally 4 hrs, although there are some that require less time paddling.

We generally prefer to use kayaks, as their lower profile is affected less by the wind as a canoe in the more open areas. With the favorable conditions, couples can use canoes on in shore trips and on some of the marsh to off shore trips. A canoe is typically too difficult to handle by one person in windy conditions. Upper Cathead Creek - 2 hrs - Shuttle departs for McCullough Creek at 12:00 noon.
